The Important Questions...

It seems to me that the important questions are often never asked.

People say: I want a home business. I want to make lots of money, and I want to change my life and be successful...

Great statements, and a good start... but, these statements do not address any of the important questions that need to be asked.

What are the important questions?

Firstly, and most importantly in my humble opinion, I think it's imperative to ask yourself what kind of business you think you would feel a good fit with.

There are many solid home business opportunities out there. Why not sit down for a moment and ask yourself what type of business feels like a good fit for you? Is it health and wellness, or does technology feel like a better choice. Would you be better suited to something that is Internet based or do you prefer to mix it up with real live people? Do you think you would do well marketing a product (if so, what kind of product) or do you feel that you would prefer to offer a service (if so, what kind of service)?

Why is this important to consider... Well, let's face it, if you don't feel a good fit - actually, a great fit, how will you convey your passion for what you are doing? Believe me, you can't fake passion!

And why is passion so important? For a couple of reasons: 1. People need to see and feel your passion for what you are doing, or they won't likely partner with you or become your customer. 2. Home business is not always easy. It's simple, but, it can be challenging (and any one who tries to tell you differently is a smelly liar ;o)

You need passion and belief in what you are doing to pull yourself through the challenges.

Make sense? Good, it's important!

And passion ties into another important aspect of a home business. I can't even count the number of times I have heard this: Looks great, but I don't have any money to invest in a home business right now...

MEEEP! Wrong! If you don't have anything to invest, why are you looking for a home business? I have yet to find the home business tree where you can just walk up, pick what you want, and get going with it at no cost. In fact, I have never found any kind of business tree that you could walk up to and pluck off what you want without making an investment... Have you?

Let me tell you something. When I hear a statement like this I know that something is not quite right. I know that that person does not feel passionately about the business that I just showed them, and that is fine. Not honest, but fine.

Because believe me, if you feel passionately about something, there is no way that you will let whatever business start-up fees might be involved stand in the way of your success. Passion has a way of taking care of that for you because you see immediate value in what you are looking at. You get excited! You see the tremendous potential for all the changes you seek in your life, and you know that if you don't do something different and soon, your life will not change. You immediately recognise and shake hands with your vehicle for change.

How do I know this to be true? Experience! Believe me, when you see your vehicle for change sitting right in front of you, you know it, and you do what you need to do to make it happen.

You would be surprised at how quickly you can make something happen when you want it badly enough, and you really do find out how creative and resourceful you can be!

So when looking at a home business, ask yourself - do I feel passionately about this business? Asking yourself the right questions is so important. If you are not asking them, you're not doing yourself any favors. You're kind of running blindly through a minefield and hoping for the best... And If I don't ask them, then I'm not doing my job as a leader, and I am running right along side you in the minefield.

What's Your Excuse??

There are so many people on the internet trying to discover a way or ways to make an income - and believe me, there are plenty of great ways to make a living on the net, but I am noticing one of two things:

1. People are desperate, make poor choices, joining all kinds of hyped up, garbage programs that promise retirement by Friday without having to work or put in any effort.... or

2. They find a solid program... and find every excuse in the world not to work it or make it work.

Sounds crazy, I know, but - I see this every day.

Every Single Day!

In fact, this very topic came up at one of our meetings this week. In my primary business, there are many things that we need to do to ensure that our businesses grow, and we need to do those things consistently, over time. I think that is probably the case for almost every business or anything worth while that you care to take on.

People, know this, and yet they consistently fail to do the things that they need to do in order to get where they want to go.

They say: I don't have time today, I'm tired today, Oh, I can do thattomorrow, I can't do that today because my moon is in Saturn at the moment, I can't because my mother's ex-sister-in-law's son's Aunt's cat had kittens, and we are all going to visit and it's a 12 hour drive...

They can say anything they want, but if they are finding a way to avoid doing what they need to do to get where they want to go - then they will simply have to be honest with themselves and admit that all they are doing is MAKING EXCUSES...

And I know that you have all heard this before - You can make changes, or you can make excuses... but you can't do both at the same time.

Guess what... It's still true!

Want a little insight into why you are not getting to where you say you want to go? Here is a little exercise for you:

Grab a piece of paper and at the top, write this down:

I can't make my business work because:

Now finish the sentence. Take the whole piece of paper to do so if you need to, and when you are done, you will have a list of what you will call reasons why you can't succeed :o(
